Letter to My Ex: Soup's Engagement
Dear "Soup",
If your latest relationship status update on facebook is correct, then I should be congratulating you on your recent engagement. You are actually the first of my exes to get engaged. While some would expect that I'd "feel some type of way" about that, I really don't.
Our relationship was a weird one, and in fact, you were the weird one. From your style to your "preferences" I never really figured you out. You were never sure if you were ready to commit and I finally grew tired of your yo-yoing me around.
We did have some great times partying together. (I still thank God that he brought me through those holidays in the tri state area). Your friends were my friends and I also take pride in the fact that before me you were damn near an atheist but immediately after me you got baptized. (Snaps for me bringing souls to Christ!).
You tried to rekindle a few years later, but I never really wanted to go down that road with you again. Based on the man I'm in love with today, I don’t really see why I was ever so attracted to you. Maybe it was just a freshman phase.
Anyhoo, I checked out the pics of your fiance, and, well…shes "cuterish." Kind of like Usher going from Chile to Tameka..a slight downgrade, but hey, if you like her, I love her. No hard feelings, in fact, no feelings at all. Maybe this means I never really loved you as anything more than just a friend. Best of luck in married life. Don't worry about sending me an invitation, I think I'm busy on your wedding day.
Two Fingers.
